Auracast™ Connection Guide

We are committed to making our services accessible and comfortable for everyone. To ensure you never miss a word, our church is equipped with an Auracast™ broadcast audio system, delivering high-definition sound directly to your compatible hearing aids, cochlear implants, or personal listening devices.

What is Auracast™ Connected Hearing?

Auracast is essentially a major evolution of Bluetooth—think of it as a newly upgraded Bluetooth protocol built specifically for broadcasting sound to multiple listeners at once. It replaces older assistive systems by acting as the next-generation Assistive Listening System (ALS), working seamlessly alongside traditional options like telecoils while offering a much broader transmission range, superior sound clarity, and complete freedom to sit wherever you prefer.

  • Simple Connection: Just like joining a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone, you simply select our church’s audio stream directly on your mobile device or hearing aid app.

  • Direct-to-Ear Streaming: Sound streams directly into your hearing devices, completely bypassing background room noise and room echo to give you a clean, customized listening experience.

Auracast compatible Hearing Aids (July 2026):

ReSound: Enzo 1A & Savi Nexia & Vivia

Oticon: Oticon Intent & Oticon Zeal

Jabra: Enhance Pro 20 & Enhance Pro 30

Philips: Hearlink9050

Starkey: Edge Al & Omega Al

How to Connect Your Hearing Aids

Depending on the manufacturer and model of your hearing aids, you can connect using your device’s companion app or your phone’s native Bluetooth settings.

  1. Open the Smart 3D app on your phone.

  2. Tap “Find a Broadcast” displayed in bold white writing at the bottom of the home screen.

Connecting Using Personal Earbuds & Headphones

If you do not wear hearing aids but prefer to use personal wireless earbuds or headphones that support Auracast (Bluetooth LE Audio), you can connect directly through your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings menu just as you would pair a standard audio device.

Here are some popular personal devices that currently support Auracast:

JBL Tour ONE M3
Sony WH-1000XM5
Bose QuietComfort Ultra
Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro
Avantree Aura Focus : Avantree Headphones Website

This list of supported headphones and earbuds is always expanding as manufacturers rapidly adopt the new Bluetooth LE Audio standard.

When shopping for compatible personal headphones or earbuds, look for these key specifications on the packaging or manufacturer website:

  • Auracast™ Support: Explicitly stated on the box or in the specs as “Auracast broadcast audio ready.”

  • Bluetooth LE Audio: Auracast runs on the Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) Audio platform. If a device only lists “Classic Bluetooth” (v5.2 or older without LE Audio), it will not support Auracast broadcasts.

  • Companion App Integration: Ensure the device has a companion app that allows you to scan for and select nearby audio broadcasts.
